12s and 16s Nationals

Week 3 of December Showdown saw 5 Brixtonators compete in the 12s and 16s Nationals. In the 12s: Tara at 10 years old finished 44th in the 12s. Yangho made the round of 32 and finished 31st overall. Dylan lost 3 matches then won three matches to finish 56th. All three players learned valuable lessons about how to win matches at the national level in the coming years. In the 16s: Casey made the round of 16 and lost in the conso quarters to finish 14th. Talia lost to the number 1 seed in the round of 16, then won 4 more matches in the conso to finish 9th. National Teams Event 1st and 4th

Talia adds a second national title to her December Showdown Tour by playing number 1 on the winning WA 14s girls State Team. Talia won 5 of 6 matches in a dominant display. Winning the National Teams Event against all the other States in Australia and 5 international teams including Japan and China is a significant achievement. Excellent job Talia for another fantastic week of tennis. Yangho's 12s boys team finished 4th in what Yangho describes as a "hard tournament and a great learning experience that I will remember for a long time." Talia wins the December Showdown!

After a number of outstanding results in previous nationals, Talia has achieved her goal of winning the 14s December Showdown Australian Championships in Melbourne. Talia (and her family and coaches) are very happy with this incredible achievement. Fantastic work Talia!
